Delta-T Consultants is currently working on the design for a rooftop outdoor swimming pool and hot tub to be located on Kelowna’s new Sopa Square development. The development is a fantastic new feature building in Kelowna’s Pandosy area that will have a mixed commercial and residential occupancy. Design included the circulation systems, filtration systems, and disinfectant systems for both the swimming pool and hot tub. The Elkford Aquatic Centre has a pool with 4-lanes of swimming and a beach front access, slide, and whirlpool. Delta-T provided engineering for the renovation of their mechanical systems for the natatorium. The goal of the project was to replace aging equipment, increase efficiency, and decrease emissions. A new high-efficient air handling unit was provided that also provides dehumidification for the pool room. The energy from the exhaust air stream and dehumidification processes are then recaptured and used to heat the pool water. New high-efficient furnaces were also specified throughout the facility.
Delta-T is involved in ongoing upgrade projects at the Vernon Recreation Centre. Currently a new domestic hot water heating system is being installed to provide consistent hot water to the various showers and plumbing fixtures throughout the facility. Design is also underway for a newly renovated kitchen exhaust system to serve their auditorium. The design is to comply with NFPA 96 to ensure proper fire suppression and ventilation. Projects recently completed include:
- Modifications to the lap pool heating system to improve performance
- Boiler replacement with high-efficient condensing boiler
- Reroofing and roof drain replacement
- Auditorium corridor ventilation system
- Front office renovation sprinkler system modification
